Northwest Judo Friends and Family:

I hope you all have had a great summer, and that this autumn finds you
well.

I am happy to announce that the Continental Judo Crown has been officially
sanctioned by USA Judo for November 11, 2018. Please find the attached
entry packet. Special thanks to Aaron Scrol for all the effort that goes
into preparing the paperwork.

The local tournament season kicked off last week in Kent, WA. Great thanks
to Zenyu Dojo for putting on an outstanding event and setting the pace for
the upcoming season.

Next on the calendar is Budokan's 50th Anniversary Tournament this weekend
(9/29/2018) at Kentridge High School. Registration information can be found
here: http://www.budokanjudoseattle.org/

The Rainier Cup Judo Championships will be held on October 20, 2018 at
Pierce College (Fort Steilacoom Campus).

It will soon be time for WSJI dojo membership renewal. I will send out
application materials as soon as they are available.

Finally, the WSJI officers will meet in a couple weeks to draft the 2019
budget. We were very happy to receive such positive feedback for the funds
designated to support athlete travel in 2018. If you have an opinion
regarding this support program, or if you have other ideas that you would
like to suggest for discussion in relation to the budget, please drop me a
line, and we will be sure to consider your suggestions when drafting the
2019 budget.
